Grace upon grace

26 October, 2010

It’s the little things we miss that we should be thankful for. Birdsong while hanging out the washing. Children singing known and spontaneous songs of praise. The tinkle of toddler-laughter. The smile of a stranger. The smell of rain. Warm blankets crocheted by great-aunts. Panadol to ease the fever of a toddler. An empty week. Unexpected mail – not bills but real mail, just for me. Doctors who listen, who are free to visit and can be seen the same day (if you get in early enough).

Little blessings that form the essence of the biggest blessing of all.

Life.
