Dwelling: Book

17 September, 2010

I was given this book a few years ago and have enjoyed re-reading it recently. The best thing about this book is it is making me think about who our family is, what we value and what we like to do.

For example, we all like to read. Even Josiah likes to look at books. But there wasn’t any logical place to sit and read. Mark and I have a big long wish list of things we’d like to buy and things we’d like to do with our house but we’ve come up with a solution that simply involves rearranging some furniture that we already have. Isn’t that the best type of solution?

As we redecorate, rearrange and personalise our home, I am challenging myself to do it without adding too much into our home. I want to achieve a personal space that reflects our values and personality. Frugality is a regular feature in our lives so it’s only natural that it would factor into our home decorating.

If you want to reassess and revitalise the place you call home, then buy or borrow this book!
