Games, games, games
As much as fun is one of our family values, there is more than just fun going on with playing games. We can learn (and teach) so much from playing games.
Games teach social skills like turn taking and good sportsmanship. Games teach thinking skills like planning, strategy, analysing and predicting. Games teach mathematical skills such as estimation, addition, subtraction, probability and chance. Games teach physical skills such as throwing, catching, running, jumping and countless other ways to move your body. Games teach language skills such as describing, explaining, summarising, listening, speaking clearly and reading. Games unite us as a family and give us a great amount of pleasure.
